This Leicestershire based charity required a complete overhaul of their existing site. The new site was redesigned and developed from scratch using W3C compliant XHTML and CSS. The charity needed the option to regularly update their constantly expanding site, content management has been supplied through Textpattern integration. Provision for event management and registration was also included, along with a whole host of additional functionality.
Much of this work was undertaken on a donatory basis for the benefit of the charity.
Site officially launched 1st May 2008.
digiPoem
Technology: xHTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, AJAX, XML and MySQL
Visit this site: Local development version - visualise your own text!
This site was developed as part of a testing suite for my MSc dissertation research into folksonomic tagging.
In essence the site is a 'mashup', enabling users to intelligently visualise different text sources through manipulation of the Flickr and Yahoo! APIs. Textual content is stored, broken down, filtered and reconstructed into a visual display.
The site has recently undergone a re-design, however, it is still in a working beta stage. The site remains an active test-bed for my AJAX experimentation and further updates are in the pipeline.
Please go ahead; experiment with visualisations of varied text sources.
Please enable Javascript before usage. A broadband connection is also recommended.
